So, the goal is to shift everyone to electricity and away from heating with fuel oil and natural gas? If the price of oil or gas goes up, I still have the ability to shop around and find the best price. With electricity I have zero options to shop around. Once I’m all electric I will be at the mercy of the only electric company around and the state regulators who routinely grant double digit increases. My electric bill has gone up 29% this year while using the exact same amount, or even less, than I have for the past several years. I’m totally in favor of reducing emissions but the options need to be affordable in the long term.
